A two-way star who won the Heisman Trophy in college football, Travis Hunter is sharing his fame with his younger brother, Trayvis Hunter, who just at 15 is slowly and gradually making his mark in the football world. Trayvis is a sophomore at Effingham County High School and has caught the eye of everyone due to his impressive wide receiver performance in this season. He announced on his social media that he had garnered two Division I offers from Tennessee State University and Jackson State University.
Who is Travis Hunter’s brother, Trayvis?
Trayvis Hunter, the younger brother of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, has received two offers from HBCUs, including Jackson State, where his brother made history. Trayvis received his first offer from Tennessee State University, which is coached by Eddie George, and the second from Jackson State, which won the Celebration Bowl and claimed the HBCU national title, making him even more interested in the recruitment process.
“Blessed to receive my first ever offer from Tennessee State University,” Trayvis posted on his Twitter account.Hunter received another offer from Jackson State, where his brother Travis played with Deion and Shedeur Sanders before Deion was hired as Colorado’s coach. Travis was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, the top freshman player in FCS football. Trayvis received his first two offers only a couple of days after Travis won the Heisman. Not a bad week for the Hunter brothers.
Trayvis Hunter is a sophomore at Effingham County High School in Springfield, GA. He stands 5’7, 140 pounds and plays wide receiver. Trayvis Hunter’s Jackson State offer is of great importance as his older brother, Travis Hunter, committed to the school under Deion Sanders, surprising the college football world by switching from Florida State. Hunter, the second-highest-rated prospect in 2022, played one season at Jackson State, leading the Tigers to a SWAC championship.
Trayvis visited Florida State University, where Travis Hunter shared his decision to choose an HBCU over a Power Five school during an appearance on the *The Pivot* podcast. “I know it’s a bit of sacrifice,” Hunter said. “But one day my brothers and sisters might not go D1. So I still got to shine a light on someone else. And that was my main focus and that’s what I did.”

Travin Hunter’s younger brother does not carry the national persona attached to his older brother; however, he is also currently enrolled in high school with interest from Tennessee State and Jackson State to continue his further career in HBCU football. Bright horizon; just two years of high school ball ahead of him. As top HBCU programs like JSU and TSU come knocking, it’s only a matter of time before powerhouses like Alabama, Georgia, and LSU join the conversation.
