Viewers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are eagerly awaiting the comeback of actress Disha Vakani as Dayaben. While producer Asit Kumar Modi had assured viewers that he was doing everything he could to bring her back, it appears that things have changed.
Given Disha Vakani’s current circumstances, Asit Modi believes she will find it difficult to return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He added that he is still trying to get her back, “I believe Disha Vakani can’t be back. She has two children. She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister, Disha Vakani, has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also a family to me. You worked together for 17 years, and it became your extended family.”
The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer also told News18 Showsha that he hopes a miracle will bring Vakani back to please the audience. However, if things do not work out, Modi will hunt for another actress to fill Dayaben’s shoes.
Disha Vakani took maternity leave in September 2017 and has not returned to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since. It’s been a long seven years since she last appeared on the show, and the producers have yet to replace her. Viewers adored Disha Vakaani’s portrayal of the innocent and hilarious Dayaben; her character is one of the main reasons for the show’s enormous popularity.
