Announcing his retirement, Crosby admitted that leaving wasn’t easy. “My 17 seasons in the NFL surpassed all of my childhood hopes and dreams. I couldn’t be more grateful that 16 of those years were spent with the Packers. Being drafted in the 6th round of the 2007 draft, I could have never written the script of what my career was going to become.” he shared.
Crosby’s NFL story began in 2007 when the Packers drafted him in the sixth round. From that moment on, he became a cornerstone of the franchise, etching his name into history as the team’s all-time leading scorer with 1,918 points. With 395 successful field goals out of 485 attempts (81.4%), Crosby’s accuracy and composure under pressure made him one of the most reliable kickers in the game.
Of course, his most prized memory comes from Super Bowl XLV, where he played a pivotal role by making all four extra-point attempts and allowing Green Bay to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
A Glance Through His Legendary NFL Career and Lifelong Impression
He had short periods playing for the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants after leaving the Packers in 2022, and then did not play during the 2024 season. Even though Crosby was not in the game last season, his passion for it never disappeared.
Crosby’s impact went far beyond his statistics. He was the steady, unshakeable presence that Packers fans trusted in game-deciding moments. Through brutal weather conditions and high-pressure kicks, he delivered time and time again. His legacy isn’t in the numbers but in the memories he gave Packers Nation.
Though he says he is scared about what comes next, Crosby has found new passions to explore. As he enters this new stage of life, one thing is for sure—his name will forever be remembered in Packers history. Green Bay may have lost its greatest kicker, but his legacy? That will never fade.
