Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has officially confirmed his much-anticipated project, ‘The Idiot of Istanbul‘, starring acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. In a recent interview, Ali shared his excitement for the film, which marks Fahadh’s highly awaited debut in Bollywood.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Imtiaz Ali opened up about ‘The Idiot of Istanbul’, “This announcement is out. But, it’s a little ahead of its time. There is a movie, but I don’t know it might not be the next one up. But, yes, I have been trying to make this film for a long time. It’s called ‘The Idiot of Istanbul’. I would love to do this and my plan is to make this film with Fahadh.”
Fahadh will reportedly star alongside Triptii Dimri in “The Idiot of Istanbul.” Fans are excited for Fahadh’s Bollywood debut, with filming set to start in early 2025. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, known for hits like ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Tamasha’, the film is already generating buzz.
Professionally, Imtiaz Ali’s last outing was ‘Amar Singh Chamkila,’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
Meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil was recently seen in ‘Pushpa 2: Rule,’ alongside Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. He also appeared in ‘Aavesham,’ a film about three college students in Bengaluru who form an unexpected bond with Ranga Annan, a local gangster, seeking his help to confront their college bully.
