There’s a werewolf lurking around cinemas in “Wolf Man” but he’s just the first of many scary things coming to a screen near you.
As good as last year was for the horror movie industry – “Nosferatu,” “Terrifier 3” and “The Substance,” oh my! – 2025 is packed with all sorts of chillers, thrillers and everything in between. There’s not one but two Frankenstein tales, a finale for “The Conjuring,” a couple of throwbacks with the return of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Final Destination,” a Stephen King-inspired jam, some killer villains and a bunch of screaming kids.
The sights and sounds of horror aren’t just for Halloween – they’re year-round, y’all! If you love fright fests, here are 25 flicks coming soon to mark (in bloody red, of course) on your brand-new 2025 calendar:
‘Companion’ (Friday)
Sophie Thatcher plays an artificial intelligence girlfriend who goes against her programming and turns a getaway with her human beau (Jack Quaid) and his pals into a gory mess.

A bunch of indie wrestlers travel to a rural small town for a night of matches, then realize they’ve been lured there by a cult to be in-ring sacrifices to their dark lord.

Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding are co-workers mistaken to be a couple by the infamous Heart Eyes Killer, a Seattle psycho who turns every Valentine’s Day into a bloodbath.

Theo James stars as estranged twin brothers who decide to finally rid themselves of the cursed toy monkey that’s been haunting them since they were kids in the adaptation of a Stephen King short story.

Ryan Coogler’s period piece features Michael B. Jordan as Southern twin siblings with troubled pasts who return to their hometown and find it inhabited by a fearsome evil force.

Based on the video game, the thriller centers on a group of friends stuck in a deathly time loop of being murdered in new ways over and over until they can figure out a way to survive till morning.

Katie Douglas plays a young woman who moves to a quiet small town torn apart by the local corn syrup factory burning down. Even worse, the place is haunted by a smiling killer clown named Frendo.

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt, original stars of the 1997 “Last Summer,” return – as does the Hookman – as another group of friends is being hounded by a symbol of past sins.

‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ (Sept. 5)
Freaking out audiences for more than a decade, “The Conjuring” series finishes with one final, blood-curdling case for Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

‘Him’ (Sept. 19)
Produced by Jordan Peele, the football-themed chiller stars Tyriq Withers as a young athlete willing to go to extremes to be a G.O.A.T. and decides to train at the isolated compound of an aging quarterback (Marlon Wayans).
