Randy Moss, an indelible name in NFL history, last year opened a page in his life that is extraordinarily personal-it read that he is a “cancer survivor.” The 47-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer announced in Instagram Live that his health took a turn for the worse in early November, leading to him rushing to be seen medically. The six-hour procedure was performed on him to remove cancer that had spread to his pancreas and liver. Following the surgery, Moss spent six days recuperating from the procedure in a Charlotte hospital before returning home to begin his recovery process.

“He was so unselfish. He did so many things that he never got credit for—never wanted credit for,” Belichick said. “Helping kids, spending money to give kids experiences at his own expense, putting them up at hotels, taking them to games, doing so many charitable things—and he was never about the credit. He just wanted to do it for the sake of doing it because he was such a good person. Randy, our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
Randy Moss’s legacy as a football player is unparalleled. Traded to the Patriots in 2007, he forged an electrifying partnership with quarterback Tom Brady. In his debut season with New England, Moss shattered records, including the NFL single-season touchdown reception record with 23.
