NEW DELHI: International League T20 (ILT20) is gearing up for an electrifying third season, bolstered by the return of cricketing legends Harbhajan Singh and Shoaib Akhtar as tournament ambassadors.
Both stalwarts bring their unmatched expertise and passion, promising to elevate the spectacle for fans and players alike.
Harbhajan Singh, affectionately known as the “Turbanator”, boasts an impressive career with over 711 wickets in international cricket.
A cornerstone of the league since its inception, the 44-year-old will once again serve as an ambassador while also lending his insights as a part of the elite commentary panel.
Joining him is Shoaib Akhtar, famously dubbed the “Rawalpindi Express”, whose blistering pace and aggressive style made him one of the most fearsome bowlers in cricket history.
Akhtar’s 444 wickets for Pakistan exhibit his legacy as a fast-bowling legend. His dual role as ambassador and commentator adds an extra dimension to the tournament.

David White, CEO of the ILT20, shared his excitement about their return, emphasising the league’s role in enhancing UAE cricket‘s international profile.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Harbhajan Singh and Shoaib Akhtar for the ILT20 Season 3, as their involvement continues to add immense value to the league. Season 2 was a huge success, with the level of competition and the quality of cricket on display exceeding all expectations,” said White.
“We’re looking forward to an even bigger and better tournament this year. We’re confident this season will raise the bar further and continue to contribute to the growing reputation of UAE cricket on the international stage.”
Harbhajan and Akhtar expressed their enthusiasm for the league’s upcoming edition, lauding its high standard of competition and its ability to spotlight emerging talent.

“It’s always a pleasure to return to the UAE, a place where I have so many fond memories from my playing days. Season 2 was an exciting display of competitive cricket, and I believe the quality of cricket will only increase as the ILT20 continues to grow,” Akhtar added.
Season 3 kicks off with a star-studded opening ceremony featuring Bollywood icons like Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Sonam Bajwa and a rematch of last year’s grand finale as defending champions MI Emirates face Dubai Capitals.
