After spending six years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Gavin Lux decided to make Cincinnati Reds his new home. On Monday, ESPN confirmed that Lux has been traded to Reds in exchange of Mike Sirota.

On Tuesday, Cara Smith took to her Instagram to share an adorable picture of Gavin Lux giving a fist bump to her daughter Charlotte Ann Smith. Attached with the image, Cara expressed how her daughter would be “missing” Lux’s fist bumps, following his trade to the Reds. Talking about the same, Cara wrote:
“Last one because chars gonna miss giving @therealgavinlux knucks anytime they saw each other.”

Before sharing her reaction to Gavin Lux’s trade, Cara Smith made headlines for her emotional tribute to the partners of Dodgers players. Following the Dodgers 2024 World Series win in November, Cara took to her Instagram to share an emotional message, attached with a group picture of all the Dodgers WAGS.
“From opening day until the very end of postseason… here are the ladies behind the boys in blue!! The bond is one of the most special and honestly very hard to describe! New faces and old faces each year, we all step up for each other in ways that only we know how!” Cara said.
“Celebrating our guys, each other and also being shoulders to lean on when things aren’t going how we thought! This past month has shown me how truly amazing this particular group is…a family away from family,” Cara further added.
Talking about his trade, the news came out as a “shock” to him. On Tuesday, Lux sat in an exclusive interview with MLB.com, in which he revealed his first-hand reaction to the trade. Talking about the same, he said:
“It’s initially a little bit of a shock. That’s a big deal, a lot going on, but we just said, ‘Whatever, we’re going to enjoy the night and celebrate his birthday and go from there.’ We just kept on going. It’s a way younger team compared to the Dodgers, but … a lot of young talent.”
As for Gavin Lux, new opportunities await him at the Reds. The 2024 season went pretty average for Lux, who joined the Dodgers on the second base of the season, considering he missed the entire 2023 season due to his injury. Do you think Lux would be able to improve his career stats with the Reds?
