Aditya Redij, known for his versatility and charisma, has stepped into the comedy genre with his latest venture, Tenali Rama. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, the actor shared his excitement about this new journey, revealing how the show resonates with him personally and professionally.
“As an actor, I believe you have to experiment; you have to try different things out,” Aditya explained. “Ek hi cheez try kar kar ke monotonous ho jaata hai. That’s the reason I’ve been doing different genres. After this, I think I’ve covered almost all genres—except horror! I believe in exploring roles that are fictional, fantasy, drama, action, and now comedy with Tenali Rama.”
Aditya expressed how the show has been a transformative learning experience for him. “I’ve done historical shows before, but this one stands out with its unique language and style. Every project I’ve taken up has taught me something, and Tenali Rama is no different,” he shared.
Known for maintaining a low-profile social media presence, Aditya credits his loyal fanbase for continuously supporting his journey. “The love I’ve received from fans over the years remains consistent. With Tenali Rama, I’m confident that the show’s existing fanbase will connect with me and appreciate my other works as well.”
For Aditya, family remains at the heart of his decisions. Speaking about his family’s reaction to him joining Tenali Rama, he shared, “Their first question was where the shoot would take place because I have a 2-year-old son now. I didn’t want to stay away from him for too long, and thankfully, the shoot is happening in Mumbai. That was a huge relief for me and my family.”
Fatherhood has profoundly shaped Aditya’s life and career choices. “Fatherhood has been an amazing experience. My son is now 2-yrs-old. I have seen a lot of changes in myself. The kind of roles I select, it affects that also. I chose this show so that my son can sit and watch because this is a family entertainer. I was very happy that my son can sit and see his papa on TV,” he said with a smile.
Aditya’s decision to embrace comedy with Tenali Rama marks yet another feather in his cap, showcasing his dedication to growth as an actor while staying connected to his family and fans.
