Dimple Jhangiani and her husband, Sunny Asrani, a diamond merchant, have been blessed with a baby girl, born on February 1 — coinciding with Ganesh Jayanti. Overjoyed, the Amrit Manthan actress shares, “My daughter is truly Ganpati’s blessing. It still feels surreal that she is finally here. Throughout my pregnancy, nearly 90 per cent of people predicted I would have a boy, and we were mentally prepared for it. In fact, most of the baby shopping was done with that in mind. However, Sunny secretly wished for a daughter. So, when the doctor announced it was a girl, our joy knew no bounds. Sunny had tears in his eyes — it was a beautiful surprise. She is nothing short of a miracle for us.”
The couple will hold a naming ceremony for their little one on February 6.
Dimple reveals that their journey to parenthood wasn’t easy. She says, “Initially, we wanted to enjoy our time together before planning a baby. But when we finally decided to expand our family, we faced unexpected challenges. There were no medical issues, yet it just wasn’t happening. The uncertainty led to a lot of stress, but I truly believe that such blessings come at the right time, as per God’s will. Becoming a mother has been my dream for years, and everyone knows how much I adore kids. When I finally saw the double line on the pregnancy test, I couldn’t believe it. It only sank in after the blood test confirmed it. But those nine months were tough — I was on complete bed rest, suffered from extreme nausea, and had severe aversions to food. I had to rely on IV fluids for the first four months. I even missed out on a babymoon. But now, I plan to celebrate everything I missed in this new phase of life.”
She adds, “The moment my daughter was born, all the pain and struggles faded away. It was all worth it. The fact that she arrived on Ganpati ji’s birthday makes it even more special. Everything fell into place at the right time, and I have no regrets. Now, my only focus is on my baby, and I couldn’t be more excited to give her all the love and care in the world.”
