The Detroit Lions are ready to take the 2025 playoffs head-on as they outplayed the Minnesota Vikings by 31-9. It was a top seed in the NFC, and hence, they also secured a first-round bye. Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs were all fire in this game with much energy spread all around the stadium. This win was already celebrated by Goff’s wife, Christen Harper, via a hyped Instagram post. Let’s take a look at how the game went and what is fueling the Lions!
Goff + Gibbs = Game Over for Vikings
The Detroit Lions are having a season to remember! After clinching a crucial victory over the Minnesota Vikings, the Lions have taken the top seed in the NFC, which puts them into a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Game hyped to the nth degree, both teams coming in at 14-2. However, the Lions, led by quarterback Jared Goff and running back Jahmyr Gibbs, proved they are the kings of the NFC jungle.
Christen Harper, Goff’s wife and biggest cheerleader, got the energy flowing by hyping her hubby’s team on Instagram with a simple yet powerful “LFG.” That’s the kind of energy we all need!
It was intense from the early minutes of the game. The Lions barely had the lead, 10-7, in halftime. But Jahmyr Gibbs was going to change everything when he scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and made the Vikings breathe in vain. At the end, the Lions finished the game in a very dominating fashion with a 31-9 win, making the franchise best with 15-2. The man Gibbs was outstanding, collecting 139 yards and four touchdowns as if it were just any other Sunday afternoon stroll. Give this man a cape; he is officially a superhero.
Jared Goff, Cool as Ever; Dan Campbell, Proud Dad Vibes
Jared Goff had a good day at the office, completing 27 of 33 passes for 231 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. It wasn’t his flashiest performance, but Goff still set an impressive record this season: nine games with a completion percentage over 75%, surpassing Tom Brady’s 2007 record of eight. That’s right—Goff’s making history while keeping it cool.
After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell showered his squad with praise. “Our players will show up and make plays, cause the core of this group has been doing it for four years now, and we’ve added to that, and those guys have just continued to add to it and help us along the way and enhance us, and they did it again now. Our guys did it again.”
Now, the Lions get to kick back and watch the wild-card match between the Vikings and Rams to see who they’ll face on Jan. 13. No doubt Christen will be ready with more Instagram hype, and we’ll all be watching to see if Goff and the Lions can continue their march toward the Super Bowl.
The Lions have spoken: LFG, indeed!
