On KBC, this person Kaushalendra who came from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, revealed an incident from the time when Bachchan shot for ‘Kaala Patthar’. He shared, “I remember that you shot for Kaala Patthar after the Jharia Chasnala disaster. The disaster happened due to a dam burst, and during the shoot, contaminated water was sprayed on you to recreate the scene. I read that your health suffered because of it, but you continued shooting. This incident is well-known in our region. Your father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, also mentioned it in his book.”
Kaushalendra knew about this as he works in the coal-buying sector. Meanwhile, he shared another anecdote from Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s book about their family habits at the dining table. “He wrote about how your family always dines together and that you sit at the dining table facing North. He mentioned that sitting facing north brings truth, and he expressed that he himself sought truth while wishing you a long life. He wrote, ‘I need truth, but you (Amitabh) need ayush (a long life).’ He also wrote that when he expressed his desire to sit in your place, facing north, you told him, ‘I don’t want a long life at the cost of truth,’” he shared.
Big B reacted to the story and said, “My father would always say that I should have a long life, and that was enough for him.” On movie front, Bachchan was last seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
