Aaron Rodgers ended his first full season as New York’s quarterback with 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns in 17 games, completing 23 of 36 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns. He ended his first season with a 368-for-584 passing record. It might be the last time that he steps on the field in a Jets uniform, or any uniform.

Aaron Rodgers finished out his 2024 season for the New York Jets, amassing 274 yards and four touchdowns in their 32-20 victory against the Miami Dolphins. He gave the 500th touchdown of his career through a pass as he led his team to play one of the best games throughout his season with the Jets, while he mentioned uncertainty about any future plans or continuation in the league and team.
“I just need some time away to think about my future in the game, and my future here if they want me to be a part of the next phase,” Rodgers told the media after the game. “Either way I’m thankful for my two years here.”
Rodgers plans to consult with ownership and take some time to make his decision regarding his future playing career. “Truthfully I don’t know,” Rodgers said. “I’m looking forward to those conversations with Woody and Christopher [Johnson] … Either way, I won’t be upset or offended whatever they decide to do if they want to move on if I still want to play. If not, I’ll let them know at some point if that’s case.”
“I know I can still some play and do the things I need to do to be successful. It comes down to the desire on their side and ultimately my desire. I’ve got to take some time mentally and physically to rest and relax.”
Rodger is the first to top the NFL’s all-time regular-season passer rating with a regular season career passer rating over 100 (the first career passer rating in the long history of the NFL ever achieved that) while also being the first to have had the best passer rating, the best touchdown-to-interception ratio, and the lowest passing interception percentage in NFL history throughout the entire decade of the 2010s.
In the postseason, he is ranked second in both touchdown passes and touchdown-to-interception ratio and fourth in passing yards and fifth in all-time passer rating. He has a regular season with the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in NFL history of 4.34, owns the league’s lowest career interception percentage at 1.4 percent, and had the highest single-season passer rating of 122.5. In addition, he won the ESPY Award as Best NFL Player four times.

Rodgers has been consistent on playing next season, saying that the Jets would be his top choice. However, the Jets’ general manager, head coach, and quarterback situation remain uncertain for 2025.
