Lamar Jackson is now a three-time MVP

The Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson is now a three-time MVP. That’s after Jackson became the first NFL quarterback in history to surpass 4,000 yards with his passes and 900 with his rushes during the same season. The Baltimore quarterback became the first quarterback with 4,000, 900, and 40 touchdown passes during one season after getting to 4,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns when he connected for a 12-yard touchdown with tight end Mark Andrews against the Browns. He also ran 900 yards with a 15-yard scramble late in the second quarter, the latest milestone in his career.
Jackson remains the all-time leading rusher in the NFL as a quarterback with 6,154 career rushing yards and counting. Jackson is actually in the race for MVP; Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley were also vying for it. If he gets it, this would be his third in a career award, and the second in succession that will mark him as one of the greatest quarterbacks of the past two decades. However, Jackson is still searching for his first Super Bowl title, which would make him a true all-time great.

Known for his dual-threat play style, Jackson led the NFL in touchdown passes in 2019 while setting the single-season record in rushing yards for a quarterback. For this success, Jackson became the second unanimous NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP)and the fourth Black quarterback to win the award.[b][8] Jackson followed his MVP campaign with becoming the first quarterback to have multiple seasons with 1,000 rushing yards and led the Ravens to a third consecutive playoff appearance.

In 2023, Jackson took the Ravens to the top seed in their conference and was crowned NFL MVP for the second time in a season that took them to their first AFC Championship Game since 2012. He is the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to play four perfect passer rating games, with at least 15 attempts. In 2024, he set a series of new career highs in passing and established himself as the all-time rushing leader among quarterbacks.
