The 2007 comedy blockbuster ‘Partner’, starring Salman Khan and Govinda, left a lasting impression on audiences, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Fans have since yearned for a sequel, and now, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, has expressed her wish for Salman Khan and Govinda to reunite for ‘Partner 2’.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sunita shared her thoughts on the potential sequel, stating, “Partner 2 ka boht maine bhi suna he tha, par mujhey bhi nhi pata kya hua. Karenge toh acha he hai, public ne pasand toh kiya he tha dono ko.” (I had heard a lot about Partner 2, but I don’t know what happened with the project. It will be great if they do it. The audience loved them together.) She praised the duo’s chemistry in the original film, adding that it would be a treat for the fans to see them together again.
Sunita also addressed the frequent comparisons between her husband, Govinda, and actor Varun Dhawan, acknowledging that such comparisons might not be well-received by Varun. She expressed her confusion over why people make these comparisons, pointing out that Varun would likely feel uncomfortable being compared to Salman Khan or her husband, Chi-Chi bhaiya.
She further elaborated on the resemblance, mentioning that Varun’s exposure to Govinda’s work with his father, David Dhawan, likely contributed to the similarity. Sunita pointed out that Varun had witnessed Govinda collaborate with his father on numerous films, which naturally led to some resemblance in their energy and demeanor. She also highlighted how Varun had been a cheerful and lively child from the start.
