Rapper 50 Cent is known for her versatility but he is also celebrated by his peers and his fans for his honesty. It’s no secret that the rapper has been trying to draw attention to the antics of the disgraced rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for years. And now in a recent podcast, 50 Cent shared that Diddy’s longtime collaborator Jay-Z once tried to keep 50 Cent from performing at the Super Bowl.

50 Cent Breaks Down Longtime Competitiveness And Tensions With Jay-Z

50 Cent recently made an appearance at the ‘Flagrant’ podcast hosted by comedians Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh. During the lengthy session, the rapper shared his unfiltered thoughts on a few things, including the Diddy scandal, the Drake vs Kendrick feud and his competition with Jay-Z. Since 2019, Jay-Z as part of his entertainment company Roc Nation, co-produces the Super Bowl halftime show with the NFL. The partnership includes selecting music for NFL use and choosing performers for promotional spots.

50 Cent revealed that Jay-Z did not want him to be a part of the Super Bowl 2022 halftime show roster and even tried to create certain issues between 50 Cent and the NFL that did not exist. “Jay-Z would do funky stuff like the Super Bowl, like it was not okay for me to be at the Super Bowl,” the rapper opened up during the podcast.
On being asked by Schulz whether Jay-Z tried to cut 50 Cent out of the line-up, the rapper agreed. “He didn’t want me (there). They worked to make it look like there was an issue between me and the NFL that didn’t exist,” he said.
“Oh, so he did the corporate way of trying to keep you down. ‘Oh, it’s not me, it’s them’” Schulz remarked. 50 Cent further revealed that it was Eminem who put his foot down and said he would not perform if his longtime friend 50 Cent did not perform at the halftime show.

“Then when Em says he’s not going to do it when I’m not there… yeah,” 50 Cent added. On being prodded by the podcast hosts 50 Cent also broke down what the real issue is between him and Jay-Z.
“It’s just competitive stuff,” 50 Cent remarked. “This is what I’m saying, when it gets past actual art like actual music, and you try to block something that’s in business then it feels weird. It feels like we should be having beef.”
A few days ago, 50 Cent also spoke on whether Jay-Z’s professional partnership with the NFL will come to an end following the allegations against Jay-Z. “They will fall back … the NFL, they won’t necessarily be associated to that,” 50 Cent speculated.
